Highchair Issue

My child refuses to sit in a highchair or booster seat or really any other device made to help small people her age eat. She wants to sit or stand at the table. If she gets put into a highchair (which is a fight in itself - back arches, cries...) she won't eat and she cries and tried to get out. I'm really not happy about this new development. Especially since it came one week before we go to visit Daddy in Elko where we'll be eating out in restaurants a lot. Should be interesting. Wish me luck!

Don't fight it - just teach her how to sit carefully in a big chair so she doesn't fall. We're going through the same thing with Samantha...granted she's a little bigger than Avery, but a booster would still help. So we just don't fight it anymore (in restaurants, especially) and she'll either sit in our laps or we just sternly tell her to sit on her bottom and eat like a big girl then. In public, the tantrums aren't worth it. :) Good luck!
