Here are a couple of pics of our place in Trondheim. Just to let you all know it's costing us 6500 Kr a month with is about $1100 with the current exchange rate. That includes roughly 900 square feet of space, cable and internet. And this is "cheap" faculty housing. To get a similar place on the open market we'd be paying closer to $2000 a month - yikes! We have a one year contract which means in a year we'll have to move but at least we have a year to figure that out. We're hoping to get into married student housing next year but we'll see. Our place is about 2.5 miles from the University and from Downtown shopping and from Trondheim Fjord. Not a bad location. It's going to take some getting used to, us living in an apartment again, but it's a challenge I'm ready for.

Wow, It is starting to feel like you guys are REALLY moving! :(
First off, what is a WC? Is that the toilet? And clothes drying balcony?! LMAO!! Seriously though, it doesn't look too bad and knowing you and the way you set up house, no matter where ya'll are living it will be set up all cozy and comfy and will be your own little haven of serenity.
Looks like y'all got a good deal! When are you headed over?
Tressa, We're leaving mid Jan - it's coming up!
I've got to tell you, I'm so amazed by your enthusiasm and openness to all of this change. Its really impressive how you're able to put a good spin on all this stuff which has to be so freaking stressful! You're doing it all with so much grace and I really admire you for that.
Of course, let's wait until you're actually emptying your house and putting all of it into boxes! I promise I'll be there with wine and orange soda!
It looks comfortable, L... So much sun. I hope that it is as comfortable as it looks :) And, I hope you have a balcony, do you? Because like Butte and Grand Forks, Norway has to have summer sometime, right? ;) So excited for you! (I know there will be challenging parts too, but much adventure to balance, perhaps)
